How to Prompt like a Designer

A workshop with Kathy Wang

The night, in one breath

195 founders packed the room to learn the skill nobody teaches: prompting AI so your product doesn't come out looking like every other AI-coded, purple-gradient lookalike. Kathy Wang, Cornell-trained designer turned Press Club co-founder, ran the workshop like a designer works, visually and iteratively.

Three moves stuck with the room: prompt for specific design styles by name, metaprompt when you don't have the design vocabulary yet, and rapid-prototype multiple directions instead of arguing about which one is best. Selina and Lyvia opened the night, a design quiz kept it loud, and the conversations ran well past the workshop.

Meta-prompt like your life depends on it.
